ullynally Castle is now an approved venue for Civil Ceremonies and will host several Weddings in 2017. This magnificent castle, with its superb parkland, ancient woodland and 10 hectares of gardens, offers the perfect venue for small or medium sized weddings.
From the private arboretum to a gothick summer house in the walled flower garden or a Chinese pagoda by a lake, Tullynally has something for all tastes. Each outdoor venue can seat up to 40 guests and within the Castle itself, the Great Hall and adjoining reception rooms are also sometimes available to larger parties.
Using our onsite caterers CaToCa Fine Food, we can offer refreshments after your Ceremony with a drinks reception in the Great Hall followed by an intimate Wedding Luncheon in the Dining Room. (Pictured below)
Perfect for bespoke Weddings, we offer packages to suit all budgets and a service to make your special day memorable. For more information and to arrange a site visit, email our Wedding Co-ordinator Bartle D’Arcy at firstname.lastname@example.org
Tullynally also offers a pre booked Wedding Photography service that includes entry to the grounds for the Wedding Party and Wedding Car access to the front of the castle. To book, email email@example.com
Situated on the Castle East side the Arboretum features mature 19th Century tree planting and new species introduced over the last 30 years by Tullynally owner Thomas Pakenham, the world famous tree expert.
A specially designed Acorn House in a central glade approached by sweeping forest paths is reminiscent of a sacred grove and is overlooked by Knockeyon Hill at Lough Derravaragh, home to the Children of Lir.
Described by the novelist Maria Edgeworth as a “fairytale garden” the grounds of Tullynally provide for a fairytale wedding with the castle one of the largest private residences in Ireland.
Very popular Summer time outdoor venue covered with rambling roses and surrounded with herbaceous borders looking down over the formal lawns towards the melancholic weeping fountain. Situated outside the walls of the Victorian Walled Garden and based on a train station platform this location offers great views of the flower gardens planted and cared for by Castle owner Valerie Pakenham. The area remains private for the Civil Ceremony as garden visitors are diverted.
Tickets are available from the Tearoom in the Castle Courtyard, which has the same opening hours as the Gardens.
